The Basics of the Thoracic Module

HealthMyne’s Thoracic Module automatically segments CT images of lung tissue into normal- and low-density regions in order to provide quantitative metrics to aid in the assessment of emphysema. Heterogeneity and texture can produce quantitative details about lung disease that can assist clinicians at both the point-of-read and point-of-care to provide better care for their patients. The Thoracic Module is designed to make the acquisition and usage of lung disease specific quantitative metrics simple and easy and does this in the following ways:

  • Automatically segments lungs and use advanced radiomics to delineate normal and abnormally low density regions
  • Calculates discrete metrics for total volumes and low- and normal-density volumes and percentages for the complete lung or any individual slice
  • Clinicians can view heterogeneity/texture for the entire lung or any lesion delineated using RPM
    • Direct interventions to the most likely areas of malignancy
