Using ‘Imaging Analytics’ to Personalize Cancer Care

May 24, 2021 | Article

The adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” was first put forth at the turn of the 20th century by newspaper editor, Tess Flanders, and later popularized by advertising executive, Fred R. Barnard in the 1920s. In cancer care, it appears that an image is worth a thousand data points (and more) thanks to radiomics, an emerging technology that analyzes data extracted from CT, MRI or PET scans. In January 2021, RefleXion Medical announced a new partnership with Wisconsin-based startup HealthyMyne, a pioneer in applied radiomics. Together the companies will gather and analyze image data to find novel ways to enhance treatment planning and clinical management of patients with all stages of cancer.
