Rallying Physicians Behind Lung Cancer Screening Results in Earlier Detection

St. Elizabeth Healthcare, one of the largest and most respected medical providers in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region, is tackling alarming lung cancer rates by rallying primary care physicians to support coordinated, proactive lung cancer screening for at-risk patients. The hospital system’s multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Screening Team is currently performing approximately 400 low-dose CT lung cancer screens of at-risk patients per month, detecting a new lung cancer in approximately one in every 70 screening scans – more than 60% in Stage 1 — and using tumor boards to manage them. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is significantly increasing patients’ chances of survival by finding cancer earlier.
